We're seeking an experienced agency Account Executive who's ready to own client relationships and drive meaningful results. This isn't about juggling dozens of accounts or checking boxes; it's about becoming a strategic advisor who helps clients win in competitive markets.
About Our Client Relationships
When agencies claim to be "a partner, not a vendor," we actually mean it. You can tell by how we structure our work: our Account Executives manage just 6–8 clients at a time, allowing for deep business understanding and genuine advisory relationships. Here's how it works:
- Strategic Foundation: Many relationships begin with brand strategy engagements directly with C-suite executives and business owners
- Long-term Partnership: Clients typically evolve into ongoing content, creative, and communications retainers where we become an extension of their marketing teams
- Custom Growth Plans: Our AEs manage and optimize quarterly strategies built around best-in-class content and creative brand campaigns
What You'll Do
- Client Leadership: Own the relationship for a portfolio of high-value accounts (mix of project and retainer). Build trust through strategic thinking, clear communication, and consistent delivery.
- Account Growth: Spot opportunities before clients do. Write compelling proposals and present recommendations that expand scope naturally through demonstrated value.
- Project Orchestration: Transform client challenges into actionable briefs. Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables while keeping quality standards high and projects profitable.
- Strategic Partnership: Work alongside our Principal to develop, present, and measure client strategies that drive real business outcomes.
- Quality Control: Provide final review on all client work, ensuring every deliverable reflects Muse's reputation for excellence.
- Resource Coordination: Manage relationships with specialized partners (web development, digital advertising, research, freelancers) to expand our capabilities.
What We're Looking For
This role demands energy, strategic thinking, and genuine curiosity about our clients' businesses. Our high-performance, low-drama team values direct communication and proactive problem-solving.
Must-Haves:
- 7+ years of agency experience in client-facing marketing roles
- Corporate brand experience valued, mid-size client experience preferred
- Proven track record of growing accounts through strategic recommendations and scope expansion
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation abilities
- Deep understanding of branding, content strategy, and integrated communications
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple complex accounts
- Strategic mindset – you advise clients on solutions rather than simply executing requests
- Self-direction and initiative to prioritize, delegate, and adapt as business needs evolve
